Gurugram Cab Driver Rapes Neighbour’s Wife After Barging Into House, Held

Gurugram: A 25-year-old man, who works as a cab driver, has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Gurugram.

In her complaint, the survivor alleged she was asleep next to her three-year-old daughter, were sleeping at the rented accommodation in Sector 63 A. Around 5 am, the accused, who resided next door, barged into the woman’s home.

The woman woke up and cried for help. The accused then gagged her and pushed her down. He threatened to murder her if she sounded an alarm and then sexually assaulted her. The accused fled the spot, following which the woman called her husband and narrated her ordeal to him. She then dialled the ‘112’ helpline, according to a report by The Times of India.

A case under sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC was registered at Gurugram’s Sector 65 police station. “The survivor has been medically examined and the cab driver has been arrested,” the report quoted a police officer as saying.
