Haryana Bans Rallies, Large Gatherings; Extends Existing COVID Curbs To 8 More Districts

Mumbai: Amid rising COVID-19 cases, the Haryana government has extended existing COVID-19 restrictions to eight more districts, namely Sirsa, Rewari, Jind, Fatehabad, Mahendergarh, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Hisar. Also Read: India Records 1.68 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases, 6.4% Lower Than Yesterday

The order issued by the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority (HSDMA) states that the restrictions will remain in force till 5 am on January 19.

“All types of public gatherings, rallies, large gatherings like protests, dharnas, etc. will remain prohibited in the state,” the order said.

The eight districts where restrictions will be imposed are Sirsa, Rewari, Jind, Fatehabad, Mahendragarh, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Hisar.

“…Hence, restrictions imposed in Group ‘A’ districts (other 11 districts) vide order dated January 5, shall also be imposed in these (eight districts),” said the order.

Earlier these restrictions were imposed only in Karnal, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat.
