Hurts My Heart: Virat Kohli As AB de Villiers Retires From All Forms Of Cricket

Mumbai: Soon after AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of the game, outgoing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli – who shares a great camaraderie with the former South Africa skipper – took to social media to express his views.

Kohli, who recently announced his step down as RCB captain, described de Villiers as the “best player” of his generation and said the bond between the two will always go beyond the game.

“To the best player of our times and the most inspirational person I’ve met, you can be very proud of what you’ve done and what you’ve given to RCB my brother. Our bond is beyond the game and will always be,” Kohli wrote.

“This hurts my heart but I know you’ve made the best decision for yourself and your family as you’ve always done. I love you,” Kohli signed off.

De Villiers and Kohli have forged many memorable partnerships while playing together at RCB. The two players share a lot of respect for each other and often complement each other on and off the field.
