“I Feel That There Has Been Negligence On The Part Railways” : Mamta Banerjee

Mumbai (Kolkata) :  After an Stampede took place in foot overbridge at Santragachi railway station in Howarh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to family of deceased and 1 lakh for those who are imjured in the accident.

ANI quoted Mamta Banerjee Saying, “Railway is the lifeline of the nation and it should not be derailed. Railway must take proper care for passengers. I can’t  blame railways. Let them investigate if there is a rush they must clear it”.

In an incident 2 people have lost their lives, whereas 14 of them were injured during the Stampede. According to report Satmpede occurred due to        three trains simultaneously arrived at the station around 6.30 PM and passengers started rushing towards platform to board the train.

Meanwhile 11 of them were taken to the Howrah General Hospital for treatment and other three of them had minor injuries and got first aid at station itself.
