IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Assam, Meghalaya Today

Mumbai: After Karnataka faced heavy to heavy rainfalls, IMD predicted that thunderstorm and heavy rainfall to hit the isolated place of Assam and Meghalaya.

The goa is also under the heavy rainfall zone and along with the Konkan part of Maharashtra can also suffer heavy rain.

“As per the latest observations, extremely heavy rainfall (over 20cm) is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Goa on October 25. Fishermen have been instructed not to venture into the sea for the coming days,” IMD warned and issued a red alert for some States. All India Weather Warning BulletinBulletin said that  Red color warning does not mean “Red Alert” Red color warning means “Take Action”.

“The lightning at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala, and Mahe is also likely to occur today,” the IMD stated in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin.

Along with other parts, Assam and Meghalaya also under the red alert with the thunderstorm, and gusty winds which can go up to 30 to 40 km/h same conditions are likely to avail at the North Maharashtra coast today. Arabian sea and Lakshwaseep islands can have a rough day today.

“It is very likely to be very rough to high over the east-central Arabian Sea and along and off south Maharashtra, Goa, North Karnataka coast and rough to very rough over the east-central Arabian Sea and along and off north Maharashtra coast and over east-central and adjoining the northeast the Arabian sea off south Gujarat coast,” IMD reported.

As there Is unseasonable heavy rainfall and thunderstorms occurring in India normal life has been disrupted. This many states have faced problem due to heavy showers here.
