Imported 6,000 Oxygen Cylinders From China: Delhi CM Kejriwal

Mumbai: As part of the Delhi government’s preparations for a third COVID-19 wave, as many as 6,000 oxygen cylinders have been imported from China, CM Arvind Kejriwal informed.

The Delhi Chief Minister said, “The capacity of the oxygen plant has been increased to 55 MT. The Delhi government has imported 6,000 new oxygen cylinders from China. No other consignments have been brought from outside India during the entire COVID period.”

He said, “These cylinders have been donated by HCL and given to the Delhi Government of India. We thank the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in China for helping us import these cylinders.”

Kejriwal further explained that there are three oxygen cylinder depots across Delhi. Each cylinder is given 2,000 oxygen cylinders which were imported from China.

“These cylinders can also be made available to people in home isolation. If we need to, we can use these 6,000 oxygen cylinders to add 3,000 more oxygen beds to Delhi,” he said.

According to the Delhi health bulletin on Sunday, Delhi reported 1,649 new coronavirus cases and 189 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 lockdown in the city, which started on April 19 has been extended till May 31.
