India Reports 6,650 New COVID-19 Cases; 11.27% Lower Than Yesterday
Mumbai: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare India registered 6,650 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, 11.27% lower than yesterday. India recorded 374 new COVID-19 deaths, taking the total number of deaths to 4,79,133.
The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been recorded below 15,000 for the past 57 days.
The ministry said the number of active cases has come down to 77,516, comprising 0.22 per cent of the total infections, which is the lowest since March 2020.
As per the data, the active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 775 cases in a span of 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.57 per cent. For 81 days it is less than two per cent.
The cumulative number of doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 140.31 crores.
