India Reports Biggest Rise In Daily COVID Cases In 2 Months; 47,092 Cases, 509 Deaths

The Union Health Ministry informed that the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.48 percent

Mumbai: India has reported 47,092 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the biggest single-day rise in two months. The country also saw an increase in deaths with 509 casualties.

According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am, the total number of cases in the country rose to 3,28,57,937, while the active cases rose to 3,89,583.

In the last 24 hours, 509 people have succumbed to the deadly infectious virus, taking the death toll to 4,39,529. Out of the total deaths in Kerala, 171 people died.

The number of active cases has increased to 3,89,583, which is 1.19 per cent of the total infections.

The Union Health Ministry informed that the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.48 percent.

MoHFW in its release said that after 35,181 coronavirus patients were cured in the last 24 hours, the number of those who recovered from the disease increased to 3,20,28,825. Right now the recovery rate is 97.48 percent.

The weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 2.62 per cent. India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage crosses 66 crore landmark

Under the nationwide immunization campaign, more than 66 crore COVID vaccine doses have been given so far.

“With the administration of 81,09,244 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 66.30Cr (66,30,37,334) as per provisional reports till 7 am today,” the health ministry said in its statement.
