India Reports Lowest COVID Cases Since Feb At 10,423; Active Cases Lowest In 250 Days

Mumbai: India has reported 10,423 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest since mid-February (259 days). The country also reported 443 deaths with 368 casualties from Kerala including a backlog of 290 deaths in the state.

With the fresh cases, India’s tally climbed to 3,42,96,237.

The death toll rose to 4,58,880 with 443 fresh deaths, according to the data updated at 8 am.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 25 straight days and there have been fewer than 50,000 daily new cases for 128 consecutive days.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.45 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.21 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decline of 5,041 cases in a 24-hour period.
