India Will Supply Medicines At A Affordable Price To The World: Mansukh Mandaviya

The Union Minister said that India believes in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is our family)

Mumbai: Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday has said that in a situation like Covid India has supplied medicines to over 150 nations as well as taken care of its own medical needs.

“When the first wave of COVID19 hit, the world didn’t have (Corona) medicines. We not only brought our own situation under control, met our own medicine requirements but also supplied medicines to over 150 nations. This is our commitment,” Mansukh Mandaviya said at Invest India’s Investors Summit.

He said that India believes in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is our family) and has taken the oath to provide medicines at affordable prices.

“Today India is the largest manufacturer and supplier of generic medicines…We believe in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. We’re seeing to it that the world gets affordable medicine,” Chemical & Fertilisers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

The minister further spoke on increasing investment in India and said, “…Our Govt is pro-farmer but industry-friendly. We see to it that the industries go ahead & sustain…Indian companies never cheat while making supplies. Our character is to maintain quality.”

The Invest India’s Investors summit was a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to further strengthen India’s position globally in terms of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Meanwhile, India’s inoculation coverage exceeded 103.53 crores as per a provisional report issued by the Union health ministry on Wednesday.

India has reported 13,451 new Covid-19 cases, 14,021 recoveries, and 585 deaths in the last 24 hours.
