India’s COVID-19 Cases Surge To 18,985, Toll Crosses 600

Mumbai: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday that India’s positive coronavirus cases reached 18,985 after 1,329 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the total cases, 15,122 are active cases, 3,259 are discharged or recovered and one has survived. The toll is at 603, with 44 new deaths in the last 24 hours.

As per the evening update by the ministry, Maharashtra is the worst state with 4,669 cases, of which 572 patients have been discharged and recovered and 232 deaths have occurred.

The total number of confirmed cases in Delhi is 2,081, including 431 treated or discharged cases and 47 deaths.
A total of 2,066 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Gujarat, out of which 131 patients have been referred or discharged, while 77 have died.

Madhya Pradesh has 1,540 COVID-19 cases, including 127 corrected or discharged cases and 76 deaths.
Rajasthan has so far reported 1,576 positive cases, of which 205 patients have been cured or discharged and 25 have lost their lives.

The Tamil Nadu COVID-19 figure stood at 1,520, with 457 patients recovered and 17 died. There have been 1,294 cases in Uttar Pradesh, of which 140 patients have been cured and 20 are dead.
