India’s COVID Cases Rise For 2nd Day In A Row, 7,974 Cases Reported In 24 Hrs

Mumbai: India has reported 7,974 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The country also reported 343 deaths, taking the death toll to 4,76,478.

According to the Health Ministry, with the new infections, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has gone up to 3,47,18,602, while the active cases have come down to 87,245.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.25 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.38 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

With the administration of 68,89,025 COVID-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has crossed Rs 135.25 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
