India’s Daily COVID-19 Cases Rise, 13,091 New Cases Reported In 24 Hours

Mumbai: According to the Union Health Ministry India has reported 13,091 new COVID-19 cases and 340 deaths in the last 24 hours. This comes a day after the country saw 11,466 new cases and 460 deaths.

India’s active caseload stood at 1,38,556, the lowest in 266 days, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.10%. The country’s death toll surged to 4,62,189.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 34 straight days and there have been fewer than 50,000 daily new cases for 137 consecutive days.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.40 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.25 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 1,127 cases in a 24-hour period.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.10 per cent. For the last 38 days, it is less than two per cent. The weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 1.18 per cent. According to the ministry, it has been below two per cent for the last 48 days.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 3,38,00,925, while the death rate was recorded at 1.34 per cent.

The cumulative dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 110.23 crore.
