India’s Daily COVID-19 Count Drops Below 2 Lakh; 1,67,059 New Cases Reported

Mumbai: India has reported 1,67,059 new COVID-19 cases and 1,192 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ministry said the active cases declined by 88,209 to 17,43,059 – 4.20 per cent, while the country’s recovery rate stood at 94.60 per cent.

According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 11.69 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 15.25 per cent.

The ministry said that the number of people cured of the disease rose to 3,92,30,198, while the death rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent.

With the fresh cases, the total number of infections stands at 4,14,69,499, it said.

The cumulative number of anti-COVID vaccine doses administered so far in the country has crossed 166.68 crores.
