IPL 2022: CSK Skipper Ravindra Jadeja Feels Team Needs To Practice With Wet Ball

Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja on Thursday expressed disappointment after his team lost to Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

“We started very well, Robbie and Shivam Dubey were playing well. We started well, but on the field, we have to take catches so that we can win the match. We should have taken those chances. There was a lot of dew, the ball wasn’t sticking to the hand,” said Jadeja in a post-match presentation.

“Next time, we have to practise with the wet ball. We batted brilliantly in the top-six and in the middle-overs. The wicket was very good to bat on. As a bowling unit, we need to execute our plans,” he added.

It was a pure team effort as Lucknow Super Giants chased down a mammoth target of 211 runs in 19.3 overs to register a six-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings at the Brabourne Stadium.

Chennai Super Kings batsmen Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube batted well and clean bowled the Lucknow bowlers, but there was a bowler from Lucknow who took two wickets and gave only 24 runs in four overs.

Aayush Badoni has been a real find for Lucknow as the youngster scored a half-century in the first match of the season and in a successful chase against CSK, the youngster smashed an unbeaten 19 off 9 balls.
