Israeli PM Calls PM Modi Amid War With Hamas, PM Modi Says ‘Indians Stand With Israel’

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday said Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu called him and provided an update to the former on the ongoing situation amid Israel’s war with Hamas.

On Saturday PM Modi denounced in the strongest terms after Hamas militants attacked the West Asian country killing several Israeli citizens and injuring hundreds of others.

After receiving a call from his Israeli colleague, who briefed him on the situation in the Jewish nation in the wake of the terrible strikes by the terrorist organization Hamas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his solidarity with Israel.

“I thank Prime Minister @netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations”, the prime minister posted on social media platform X.

After hundreds of Hamas terrorists infiltrated the Gaza Strip and attacked numerous Israeli border communities, murdering dozens of unarmed Israeli residents, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared “war.”

Precision airstrikes by the Israeli Air Force are being conducted on key Hamas targets in Gaza despite rising worries in the international community that the operations might spark a new confrontation.

It should be recalled that the Indian embassy in Israel had already issued a warning urging Indian nationals to take care and refrain from traveling after the assaults. There are currently no instant reports of any Indian combatants being killed.
