Its Time To Start Economic Activity In Country, And Need To Remove Lockdown In Phased Manner: Anand Sharma
Mumbai: Congress leader Anand Sharma said on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove the COVID-19 lockdown in a phased manner and said that there is a need to start economic activity in the country.
ANI quoted Sharma saying, “The country’s economy was already in poor condition and the crisis has deepened since the outbreak of coronovirus. So it is necessary for the Prime Minister to remove the lockdown in a phased manner by creating a policy framework. It is necessary to start the economic activity in the country.”

“For the MSME sector, it is important that the government enables the movement of goods-laden trucks. The MSMEs should be given loans at zero per cent interest rate,” he said.
“Farmers’ produce should be purchased at the district and subdivision level. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) report, 40 crore labourers can go below the poverty line, so the government should review its financial policy,” senior Congress leader said.
He said that the government should allow CSR money to be donated to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
