Centre Should Soon Make Policy To Handle Coronavirus Situation: Sonia Gandhi

Mumbai: Congress President Sonia Gandhi said on Saturday that the central government should soon formulate a policy to handle the situation arising out of the coronavirus crisis affecting the poor, farmers and daily wage workers in the country.

Sonia Gandhi’s observation came during a video conference with the presidents of All Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

According to a tweet from the Congress party, at the video conference, Sonia Gandhi expressed concern over the country’s poor, farmers, workers and the economy amid the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

The Congress President said, “Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and I have also written to the Prime Minister in the past and made suggestions. So we hope that the government will meet the challenge of this (coronovirus outbreak) at the earliest.”

He said, “The poor, farmers and labourers of this country face the most problems. The lockout will put a lot of burden on our economy which was already in crisis.”
