Kashmiri Pandit Shot Dead By Terrorists In Jammu And Kashmir

Mumbai: A Kashmiri Pandit, identified as Rahul Bhat, was shot dead by terrorists in J&K’s Budgam district in what is said to be an instance of a targeted attack.

The cowardly incident came to light from Chadoora in Budgam. Kashmir Police suspect that two terrorists were involved in the attack.

Bhat, a government employee, was shot when he was working in his office in the Chadoora area. Rahul Bhatt was working as a clerk in the Tehsildar office.

The terrorists barged the Tehsil office in Chadoora and shot at Rahul Bhat.

“The #injured was immediately brought to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment where he #succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary investigation reveals that 02 #terrorists are #involved in this #heinous crime & have used pistol for committing this crime,” the Kashmir Police informed.

“Terrorists fired upon one employee namely Shri Rahul Bhat from #minority community in Tehsildar office Chadoora, #Budgam. He has been shifted to hospital,” the Kashmir Police tweeted.

In recent times, terrorists have been attacking non-local activists and Kashmiri Pandits.

It has been said in the reports that till May 8 this year, 28 local Kashmiri youths have joined the terror camps. The involvement of local Kashmiri youth in various terror outfits has been a major concern for the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

On May 11, two encounters took place between terrorists and security forces in Anantnag and Bandipora districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

In another encounter on May 10, two terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at Kreeri in Anantnag’s Dooru area after security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation following specific information about the presence of terrorists.
