Kejriwal Announced A Plan To Redesign Delhi’s Roads In A Year, Costing Around Rs 400 Crore

Mumbai: In a recent development, the Delhi government announced to redesign and landscape Delhi roads measuring almost 45 km long.

“There are 9 stretches, almost 45 km long, all these roads will be redesigned. We are doing this on a pilot basis and the work will be completed in a year,” Kejriwal was quoted by news agency ANI as saying on Tuesday.

Out of all the roads in the city managed by the Public Works Department, the Delhi government has selected nine roads for the first phase, including the main routes from AIIMS to Ashram and Vikas Marg (Lakshmi Nagar Chungi) to Karkardooma. A press conference on Tuesday.

In particular, these roads will be redesigned and landscaped with new standards, including non-motorized vehicles and the allocation of space for different persons. News agency PTI said that about Rs 400 crore is estimated to be spent on this road project seeking to increase road efficiency.

The Delhi Chief Minister had earlier said that a new road plan was prepared to deal with the city’s traffic congestion.

According to a report, Kejriwal had said, “Traffic conditions in Delhi can be improved. Roads in Delhi are wider than some western countries. But in Delhi, a four-lane road converts to a three-lane road at some distance and then spreads to a six-lane road the problem is here.”
