K’taka Makes -ve RT-PCR Report Or Vaccine Certificate Compulsory For Maha Travellers

Karnataka: Passengers traveling from Maharashtra to Karnataka will have to compulsorily carry a negative RT-PCR report, not older than 72 hours, or certificate of at least one vaccine dose, according to an order issued by the Karnataka government.

The move comes in the wake of the Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 being reported from several districts in Maharashtra, the order stated.

According to the official release, such passengers on board the train from Maharashtra to Karnataka are requested to produce a negative RT-PCR certificate older than 72 hours or vaccination proof of at least one dose of COVID 19 vaccine before boarding.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said that relaxations related to COVID restrictions in the state will be discussed with experts and Cabinet members and will be announced after July 5.

As per the Union Health Ministry, Karnataka reported 3,450 fresh COVID cases, 5,933 discharges, and 93 deaths yesterday.
