Mumbai: Ex-tennis player Leander Paes today joined TMC in Goa in presence of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

This comes ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections in Goa.
Mamata Banerjee said, “Happy to share that Leander Paes has joined TMC. I am very happy. He is my younger brother. I have known him since I was a youth minister and he was very young.”
Hours earlier, actor and activist Nafisa Ali also joined the Trinamool Congress at the same event in Goa. Mamata Banerjee welcomed Nafisa Ali into the party fold.
Mamata Banerjee reached Goa on Thursday at a time when the TMC is camping in the poll-bound state with the hope of making inroads into the BJP bastion.
