London Court Extends Judicial Custody Of Fugitive Nirav Modi Till Nov 11

Mumbai: Fugitive businessman Nirav Modi’s judicial custody has been extended by London court till November 11 in connection with Rs 13,500-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud and money laundering case.

The 48-year-old businessman appeared before a Westminster Magistrate Court judge via video link from Wandsworth Prison in south-west London, where he is currently closed.

Dynamantaire and his nephew Mehul Choksi are the main accused in the PNB loan default case. The pair fled the country in January last year before the scandal surfaced.

Meanwhile, Nirav Modi is seeking bail for the fifth time claiming ‘anxiety’ issues. Earlier this month, a London court had extended the judicial custody of Nirav Modi till November 11.

Modi was arrested on March 19 by Scotland Yard in connection with the case and is in prison since then.
