Madhya Pradesh Extends Ban On Bus Services With Maharashtra Till April 30

Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh government has decided to extend the suspension of inter-state bus services with Maharashtra till April 30 due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.  Earlier, passenger bus services with Maharashtra were suspended from March 21 to 31.

In an order issued on Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh Transport Department said that the decision to continue the suspension of the inter-state operation of buses with Maharashtra due to increasing in the infection of Covid is now extended till April 15.

Maharashtra has been witnessing a steady rise in the number of coronavirus positive cases since the last few days. The state had reported its highest daily spike in cases on Sunday when it detected 40,414 new infections.

As of Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh reported 2,173 Covid-19 cases, taking the tally of infections to 2,93,179 and Maharashtra’s caseload stood at 27,73,436.

The Shivraj Singh Chohan, MP State Government has also declared that all schools and colleges will remain closed in state capital Bhopal as well as in Indore, Jabalpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Khargone and Ratlam till April 15.
