Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray Pays Tribute To Cops Who Died In Line Of Duty

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray paid tributes to policemen who laid their lives for the country while discharging their duties.

To mark Police Commemoration Day, Thackeray paid the respects at the police headquarters in Naigaon, where Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Minister of State for Home Satej Patil and Shambhuraj Desai were also present.

“Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray was present at the Naigaon Police Headquarters today. A Police Memorial Day function was also held on the occasion. Initially, the Chief Minister offered a wreath to the martyr’s memorial,” tweeted the CMO office.

Later, Deshmukh in a Twitter post said, “I paid my respect to brave police officers on Police Martyrs Day, who sacrificed their lives serving society by offering a floral tribute at the police Hq. in Naigaon today. CM @CMOMaharashtra Ji,MoS @satejp, @DesaiShambhuraj Ji, police officers were present at the occasion.”

The home minister also hailed the policemen who lost their lives “while serving the nation” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the state recorded under 10,000 new Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Tuesday with 8,151 infections, pushing the state’s tally to 1,609,516. The active caseload in the state stood at 174,265.
