Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: Shiv Sena Slams Dissenters Over Feud On Ministerial Birth

Mumbai: Following ongoing speculation of dissatisfaction in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra over cabinet expansion, the Shiv Sena on Thursday claimed a veteran and strong cabinet, expressing dissatisfaction for creating alleged unrest over the non-allocation of cabinet birth.

The Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamana on Thursday described how supporters of Maharashtra Congress MLA Sangram Thopat allegedly vandalized the Congress office after the cabinet expansion following dissatisfaction over non-inclusion in the state cabinet.

It was also said that Pranati Shinde’s supporters wrote letters to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in blood as they were not happy that Shinde’s name was not included in the cabinet.

It also underlined that NCP and Congress have not paid much attention to their constituents whereas Shiv Sena has done so.

“There are three parties in the alliance so there is a limit to the promise. It does not appear that Congress or NCP pay attention to their constituents. However the Shiv Sena did it”, the editorial read.

The Shiv Sena mouthpiece also mentioned that no promises were made to some party men to make them and Uddhav Thackeray’s decision in this regard is final.

The Maharashtra government, which was formed after days of deliberations between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena, expanded its cabinet earlier this week.

Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as the Chief Minister on 28 November, when the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress put an end to the instability in coalition politics after the elections after the Grand Alliance. Along with the Chief Minister, six other ministers – two each from NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena – took the oath of Chief Minister.

On 30 December, a total of 36 leaders of Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress, including Ajit Pawar and Aditya Thackeray, took oath as ministers in the Maharashtra government.
