Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Praises Mass Wedding

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledged the organizing of a mass marriage, saying that such events decide a long way to reduce the financial burden on individual weddings.

He was addressing a function in Asangaon town of Shahpur taluka, where 1,101 tribal couples are tied in marriage.
The Chief Minister said that many such collective marriage ceremonies are organized which are less costly and are organized in lesser expenditure.

Meanwhile praising the tribal community, he said its members have preserved water-land-forest in the real sense and also protected the country’s culture.

The five couples who were part of mass marriage were given the necessary household items including ‘Mangalasutra’ (sacred defeat worn by married women) and gas connections under the Ujjawala scheme of the center.

Referring to the local issues, the Chief Minister said that all formalities have been completed for supplying water to Sahapur from the Bhavli dam.
