Mumbai: A man in Uttar Pradesh allegedly paid his neighbour to kill his 7-year-old daughter so that he could frame his wife for murder. The accused wanted revenge from his wife as she had refused to leave home after their ‘triple talaq’.

Reportedly, the accused offered to pay Rs 8,000 along with free liquor for two days in exchange for the alleged murder.

The 7-year-old girl (Saba) was found dead in Bulandshahr on September 19. Saba’s uncle Mudassir attacked her with a hammer while her neighbour Amir slit her throat. During the incident, Shamad stayed in the national capital to avoid suspicion.

Saba’s father, Muzammil Shamad, operates a cab service in Delhi. Shamad got married to Shabnam in 2010 and have her triple talaq four years later.

Shabnam said, “He gave me the talaq in my absence, rendering it invalid. He remarried the following year and has been trying to make me leave my matrimonial house. He even tried to throw acid on me in 2018 but failed. ” The woman has further alleged that the accused killed her son, who breathed his last three years ago, The Times of India reported.

Superintendent of police (SP) Bulandshahr, Santosh Kumar Singh confirmed that the woman had lodged a complaint with relation to the acid attack attempt in 2018. However, no action was taken against Shamad due to a lack of evidence.

Further probe into the case revealed that Shamad spoke to his brother and neighbour Amir about the planned murder. Reportedly, he was upset as Shabnam had refused to leave their marital home despite the triple talaq and wanted to frame her for murder.
