Man Snatches Gold Chain Worth ₹60,000 From Woman In Pune, Hurls Chilli Powder

Mumbai: A chain snatcher hurled chilli powder into a newlywed couple’s eyes in Pune and snatched a gold chain that the woman was wearing, which was worth ₹60,000. Late in the night, a complaint was filed by her husband with the Talegaon Dabhade police.

Aniket Hivarkar, sub-inspector of Talegaon Dabhade police said that the husband who filed the complaint worked in a private company. Hivarkar said the couple decided to visit the Ghoradeshwar temple on Saturday and return at 7 pm as it was getting dark, and it was not safe.

Hiwarkar told the Times of India, “While climbing down, a man appeared and pushed the complainant. Then he threw chilli powder in the couple’s eyes and snatched the woman’s gold chain and fled. The man contacted his friends, who immediately reached there. They then came to the police station.”

Police patrolled the hilly area in the evening to prevent locals from harassing the young couples.

In yet another tragic incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad where an elderly couple was allegedly murdered at their house in Patel Nagar. Reportedly, two assailants entered the premises and no one came to know about the incident amid Diwali celebrations.

According to the police, the elderly couple was beaten up with a heavy object. However, none of the neighbours present in the six-storey building could hear the cries due to the Diwali celebrations.

The victims have been identified as Ashok Zaidka (75) and his wife Madhu (73), who lived on the ground floor and worked in a pharmaceutical business before retirement. According to the report published in the Times of India, according to the police, he was also paralyzed for 20 years.
