Members Of Sikh Community Protest Against Forceful Conversion Of Minorities In Pakistan

Mumbai: More than hundreds of people of Sikh Community staged a protest on the roads of New Delhi against the forceful conversion of minorities in Pakistan.

This comes after case where a Sikh girl was allegedly abducted and converted to Islam in Pakistan, the members of the community members are demanding the safety of Sikh families residing there.

The protesters have gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in the national capital and called on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to take action against the ‘atrocities’ being committed against minorities in his country. They are protesting against Pakistan with black flags and slogans.

Earlier on Sunday, members of the Sikh community submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting the UN to raise the issue of forced conversion of Sikhs to Islam in Pakistan.

Last week, a video surfaced on social media showing a 19-year-old Sikh girl converting to Islam in Pakistan’s Punjab province and marrying a Muslim man. The girl’s family claimed that she was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam, and demanded Imran Khan’s intervention in the case.
