NDRF Team On Standby, Heavy Too Heavy Rains Likely To Hit Mumbai

Mumbai: Due to heavy rains from last 3 days normal life has been disrupted in the city. In view of heavy to heavy rainfall in the coming days (NDRF) teams have been kept on standby in different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, Chief Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Western Railway also announced that three trains – Surat-Mumbai Central, Mumbai Central-Surat and Bandra T -VAPI – were canceled due to heavy rains and water-logging at Nallasopara.

The railway line has been closed completely for a day whereas passengers were seen sleeping on platforms.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in many parts of the city and suburbs in the next 48 hours.

“There is a possibility of heavy rains in different places and suburbs of the city for the next 48 hours with the possibility of continuous rains and rain in Mumbai,” an IMD release said.

For the last few days in Maharashtra, there have been continuous rains in many parts. This has led to large-scale water logging and flood-like conditions in some areas.
