Next R-Day Parade Will Be On Central Vista Avenue: Hardeep S Puri

Mumbai: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Paurian said on Thursday that the next Republic Day parade will take place on Central Vista Avenue and will be a ‘symbol of modern India’.

“The next R-Day parade will be on Central Vista Avenue. It will be a symbol of modern India. Some people do not understand its importance, some do not want the country to progress. They were questioning the COVID vaccine too but as all can see, we had a phenomenal rollout,” said the Union Minister.

Central Vista Avenue starts from the northern and southern blocks to India Gate with a 3 km long section from Rajpath, its surrounding lawns and canals, rows of trees, Vijay Chowk and India Gate Plaza. The government has decided to reform and improve revenue as part of a broader transformation of Central Vista.

It has approved the proposal for the development of Central Vista Avenue at an estimated cost of Rs 608 crore. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is entrusted to perform this task.

The components of development work under Phase-I include landscaping and renovation of lawns. Green cover is being increased from 3,50,000 sqm to about 3,90,000 sqm, providing public facilities with toilets, drinking water facilities and vending area at 10 places for tourists and tourists, among others.
