Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Rises To 834, Death Toll Reaches 19

Mumbai: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has said that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India has increased to 834.

There have been 19 coronavirus deaths in India so far.

Earlier, the government said that if one person did not follow the COVID-19 guidelines, all of his efforts would be void, “We must work hard to deal with coronaviruses.”

The total number of active cases in the country rose to 775, while 78 patients have been cured and discharged.

While Maharashtra has the highest number of COVID-19 patients with 180 cases, Kerala comes second on the list with 173 confirmed cases, as per the ministry at 9:30 am.

However, the tally of Maharashtra and Kerala also includes cured and discharged patients, 25 and 11 respectively, as well.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a 21-day lockout across the country effective from midnight to combat the spread of coronavirus, saying “social disturbances” are the only option to combat the disease.
