Over 54 Lakh People Administered COVID-19 Vaccines On Tuesday

The number of working men was 28,55,609 while women received 25,30,203 doses of the vaccine

Mumbai: A total of 54,24,374 people were given COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday, as per Health Ministry. As per the CoWIN portal data till 11.59 pm, 47,55,674 people were given the first dose and 6,31,277 were given the second dose. Side effects were recorded in 59 people after getting the vaccine.

This comes a day after India administered 86,16,373 vaccine doses, which is the highest-ever single-day vaccination.

The number of working men was 28,55,609 while women received 25,30,203 doses of the vaccine.

On Monday, India achieved the highest daily vaccination milestone by delivering over 88 lakh COVID-19 jabs. The Union Health Ministry said that out of the total vaccine dose was given on Monday, 63.7 per cent were given in villages and 36 per cent in urban areas.

“46 per cent of the people who received the vaccine yesterday were women and 53 per cent were men. We have to work on this imbalance, create awareness among women and bring them forward,” NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul said, urging that the ‘imbalance’ needed to be worked upon.
