India’s Daily COVID-19 Cases Rise To 50,848, Total Cases Cross 3 Crore-Mark
Mumbai: India has reported 50,848 new COVID-19 cases and 1,358 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the country’s total number of COVID-19 cases reached 3,00,28,709, while the death toll surged to 3,90,660
The country’s active caseload at 6,43,194 is, however, the lowest in 82 days.
The Union Health Ministry on Wednesday said that the recovery rate has increased to 96.56 per cent and the daily positivity rate is 2.67 per cent. The weekly positivity rate has remained below 5 per cent and currently stands at 3.12 per cent. The daily positivity rate for 16 consecutive days is 2.67 per cent which is less than 5 per cent.
To date, a total of 2,89,94,855 have been cured across the country, including 68,817 patients who were discharged from hospitals during the last 24 hours. The number of daily recoveries exceeds the daily new cases for the 41st day in a row.
The testing capacity has increased significantly with over 39.59 crore tests conducted so far, the government said.
In terms of vaccinations, on the second day of the rollout of the Centre’s new vaccination policy, more than 53 lakh people were given Covid-19 vaccines on Tuesday. According to the information available on the Cowin portal till 11.59 pm, 53,86,951 people were administered the vaccine in India on June 22.
