Owaisi Criticizes Centre’s Decision Over Export Of Hydroxychloroquine Says, “Did Govt Speaks To Expert For This Hasty Decision”

Mumbai: AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed centre’s decision after India temporarily licensed the export of antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).

Speaking to ANI, Owaisi said, “This drug is barely available in big medical shops in Hyderabad and Aurangabad and Modi makes this decision. I hope the government has taken into consideration about the availability for Indians, did government speak to experts or is it their trademark hasty decision.”

US President Donald Trump hinted at a possible retaliation on Monday if India did not hold its grip on the export of hydroxychloroquine.

India then temporarily delayed exporting reasonable amounts of paracetamol and the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to some countries, which have been particularly badly affected by the coronovirus epidemic.

The MEA stated that like any responsible government, India’s first obligation is to ensure that it has sufficient reserves of medicines to meet the needs of its own people.
