Owaisi Has Jinnah’s DNA, Believes In Sharia Law: Giriraj Singh

Mumbai: Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticised AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for comparing Delhi’s Jahangirpuri anti-encroachment drive with the Turkman Gate incident during the Emergency and said that leaders like Owaisi view all issues through a “Hindu versus Muslim angle”.

The remarks came amid a furore over a demolition drive carried out by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation in violence-hit Jahangirpuri earlier in the day.

“People like Owaisi look at everything from a Hindu versus Muslim angle. They do so because they have Jinnah’s DNA and believe in Sharia law, not the law of the land,” Singh said.

Earlier today, the Hyderabad MP likened the demolition drive to the Turkman Gate incident during the Emergency and accused the BJP-controlled municipal corporation in Delhi of “punishing poor Muslims for daring to survive”.

“BJP and AAP are setting an example of vigilante justice. You are giving collective punishment to Muslims. If the constructions were illegal and unauthorized, why was the BJP government sleeping for the last seven years? You have targeted a community and vandalized their properties. Who are you to decide a criminal? The court will decide. You are showcasing cruelty,” he had alleged.

The AIMIM chief also took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party and said that the people living in the area are Indians and not “Bangladeshis or Rohingyas”.
