Pizza Delivery Boy Tests COVID-19 Positive, 72 South Delhi Families Told To Self-Quarantine

Mumbai: A delivery boy associated with a pizza chain tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, which directed 72 families in South Delhi to make themselves self-sufficient.

According to District Magistrate BM Mishra of South Delhi, the outlet has 16 associates of the 19-year-old delivery boy at a facility in Chhatarpur.

It was learned that in the last 15 days, Kishore distributed pizza to 72 families in South Delhi areas like Malviya Nagar, Savitri Nagar, and Hauz Khas. His last working day was on April 12.

Mishra told news agency IANS, “We have found that 72 homes had taken delivery from that outlet and hence all have been asked to follow precautionary measures and remain under self-quarantine.”

There is no need to panic, saying the DM said that he has asked all delivery buoys to wear masks and follow safety measures before giving food. However, it was important to send all contact persons to quarantine as a precautionary measure.

The delivery boy is currently Dr. of Delhi. Ram Manohar Lohia is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Remarkably, Zomato is also used to order something from this outlet. The food delivery veteran said that despite the fact that all of the delivery boy’s associates tested negative for coronavirus, the restaurant suspended operations for now as a precautionary measure.

“All the co-workers of the said rider have tested negative and as a precaution, the restaurant where the rider worked has suspended operations,” read a statement by Zomato.

The total number of coronavirus positive cases in the national capital is 1,578. With two more casualties reported, the death toll from COVID-19 in Delhi has risen to 32.
