India’s COVID-19 Tally Reaches 12,380, Death Toll Crosses 400

Mumbai: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday that with 941 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India’s coronavirus virus crossed the 12,000 marks with tally readings in 12,000 cases.

Of the total tally, 10,477 patients are active, while 1,489 patients recover, discharge and migrate.
With 37 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 414.

According to the ministry, Maharashtra has recorded the maximum number of positive COVID-19 cases with a total of 2,916 cases of which 295 are recovered/discharged and 187 are dead.

Delhi comes second on the list with 1,578 positive COVID-19 cases. The tally also includes 40 patients recovered/discharged, while 32 patients have died due to infection.

Tamil Nadu ranks third on this list with 1,242 cases, including 118 cases, and 14 patients have died due to the virus.

Rajasthan has crossed 1,000 cases with 1,023 cases, of which 147 have been recovered and three patients have died. In Madhya Pradesh, 1,000 cases have been identified in 987 positive COVID-19 cases, including 64 recovered and discharged and 53 deaths.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the nationwide lockdown–scheduled to end on April 14–will be extended to May 3.
