PM Modi Inaugurates E-Gram Swaraj Portal And Swamitva Scheme On Panchayati Raj Day
Mumbai: In a recent development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with sarpanches across the country on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day on Friday. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the e-village Swaraj portal and launched the Swami Awas Yojana on the occasion.
Addressing the sarpanches through video conference, Prime Minister Modi said, “Now, broadband has reached more than 1.25 lakh panchayats. Not only this, but the number of common service centres in villages is also crossing three lakhs.”
The Prime Minister elaborated on the e-Gram Swaraj portal, stating that this is a step towards complete digitization of gram panchayats and in future, it will become a single platform, which will keep a record of all actions taken by gram panchayats.
“All the details of the development works, the money allocated to them, all this data will be available on the portal. And through this platform, the villagers will be able to access all the data on their mobile phones, which will increase transparency.”
He also started the ‘c’, which will ensure demarcation of manned land in rural areas with the use of latest survey methods including the use of drones.
