This idol is the second of the four idols being built in four directions across the country under the ‘Hanumanji Char Dham’ project.

The idol has been installed in the ashram of Bapu Kesavananda ji at Morbi in the west. The first statue in the series was installed in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh in the north in 2010. Work on the third statue at Rameswaram in the south has started, the PMO said.

“Ram Katha is also organized in different parts of the country. Whatever be the language or dialect, the spirit of Ram Katha unites all, units with devotion to God. It is Indian faith, our spirituality, our culture, and our tradition,”said PM Modi.

“When it comes to the establishment of good over evil, Lord Rama, though capable, has accomplished the task of taking everyone along, connecting people of every section of the society and connecting everyone. That is what everyone’s efforts are all about,” he added.

The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated by the devotees of Lord Hanuman to mark the birth anniversary of the Hindu god. This year this festival will be celebrated on Saturday.
