Mumbai: Following the latest happenings in the country, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has warned the Narendra Modi-led government against the ‘imminent danger’, India is facing a ‘trinity’ of social inequality, economic downturn and global health epidemic – Coronavirus.
Attacking centre led by PM Narendra Modi, over the recent communal clash in the northeast districts of the national capital, which claimed the lives of 53 people, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the fire of social tension is spreading rapidly across the country and the soul of our nation It puts you in danger.
In an article published in a leading newspaper, Singh claimed that communal tension was stolen and the sections of our society including the political class were “flames of religious intolerance spread by the unruly sections. It can only be extinguished by those who lit it”, he writes in Hindu.
On the issue of COVID-19, which has killed more than 3300 people globally, Singh said that India should also act swiftly and “announce a mission-critical team to address this issue Work will be assigned There may be some best practices that we can adopt from other nations ”.
He later suggested a three-point plan for the government – “First, it should focus all energy and efforts in which COVID-19 is a threat and adequately prepared. Two, it should withdraw or amend the Citizenship Act, end the toxic social climate and promote national unity. Three, it should put together a detailed and meticulous fiscal stimulus plan to increase consumer demand and revive the economy.”
