Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi too extended heartfelt greetings to all countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami.

Ram Navami is celebrated throughout India every year on the last day of Chaitra Navratri to mark the birth of Lord Rama.

On this auspicious day, young girls representing the nine forms of the Goddess are given gifts and prasad (sweets). However, India is under lockdown until 14 April, after which, people have been instructed to maintain social stricter to counter COVID-19, which has so far infected more than 1800 people.
