PM Narendra Modi To Visit Vladivostok, To Strengthen India-Russia Strategic Partnership

The 20th India-Russia Annual Summit would also be held during the visit to Vladivostok

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting to Vladivostok, Russia on 4-5 September, 2019.

Notably, the visit to the Far East Region of Russia will be the first by an Indian Prime Minister, underlines the desire on both sides to diversify and further strengthen the bonds of our robust bilateral relations.

In tweet PM Modi said, “I would in Vladivostok on 4th-5th September, during which it would be my honour to participate as the Chief Guest at the 5th @en_forumvostok.”

“This Forum presents a great opportunity to further deepen commercial and economic ties between India and Russia,” he further said.

The main objective of the visit is two-fold- to participate as the Chief Guest at the 5th Eastern Economic Forum at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Putin and to hold the 20th India-Russia Annual Summit with him Modi said.

The Forum focuses on the development of trade and investment opportunities in the Russian Far East region and presents a vast potential for developing close and mutually beneficial cooperation between India and Russia in the region.

Our two countries enjoy excellent relations, based on the strong foundation of our special and privileged strategic partnership. The two countries cooperate extensively in the strategic areas of defence, civil nuclear energy and the peaceful use of space. We have strong and growing trade and investment relations.

“In Russia, there would also be a visit to the Zvezda shipbuilding complex. It would present a great opportunity to learn about Russia’s exemplary capabilities in the shipbuilding sector as well as explore possibilities of cooperation in this area,” Modi added.
