PM Narendra Modi Vists Odisha Assess The Damage And Destruction Caused By The Cyclone Fani

Mumbai: Following Cyclone Fani, PM Narendra Modi of Odisha conducted an aerial survey to assess the damage and destruction caused by the cyclone. Governor Ganeshali Lal, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present with the Prime Minister during the aerial survey.

PM Modi welcomed Governor Ganeshali Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport. Narendra Modi flew to his helicopter immediately to survey the worst-affected Puri district and other affected areas.

During the cyclone ‘Fani’, at least 34 people were killed, which came on coastal Odisha last Friday, resulting in extensive destruction and hundreds of people died due to water scarcity and power cuts.

“Will be in Odisha tomorrow morning, where I will review the situation due to Cyclone Fani and hold meetings with top officials. The Centre is committed to providing all possible assistance in relief and rehabilitation measures underway,” Modi had tweeted earlier.

National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC), headed by Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha, reviewed relief measures in the affected areas of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
