PMC Bank Customers Detained For Protesting Outside CM Residence

Mumbai: PMC Bank depositors are making all their efforts to get their money back but it seems everything is going against them as recently some depositors detained from Mumbai for protesting outside CM Devendra Fadnavis residence; released late.

Some PMC bank depositors, who were protesting near the Chief Minister’s residence, were detained by the police on Friday.

A depositor told ANI, “We have been protesting for 30 days. We were protesting peacefully on the street. The police forcefully detained us.”

But later on, the protestors were released as well.

“If the money in the bank is not safe, where is it safe? Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he will resolve our problem after the election on October 22. But no word has come from him or his office in this regard,’ said another depositor.

Last month, the RBI restricted the activities of PMC Bank for six months and asked it not to grant or renew any loans and advances, make any investments or enforce any liability, including the lending of funds. And the acceptance of new deposits after an alleged fraud. 4,355 crores came to light.

The organization had initially stopped the withdrawal of deposits of Rs 10,000 but later increased it to Rs 40,000.
