Mumbai: On Thursday, Poonam Sinha, wife of actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha and mother of veteran actress Sonakshi Sinha files nomination from Lucknow Parliamentary constituency.
2 days before, she had joined Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party(SP).
It is to be noted that her husband Shatrughan Sinha is competing in Patna from her opposition Congress party.
Poonam Sinha is contesting from SP-BSP-RLD Mahagathbandhan from Lucknow and is marked against Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Rajnath Singh had won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
SP-BSP-RLD is competing on 78 out 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. SP is fielded on 37 seats, BSP on 38 an RLD on 3.
Uttar Pradesh will go for voting in all the 7 phase of Lok Sabha elections.
Today, UP’s 8 Lok Sabha constituency will go for voting. Results will be declared on May 23.
