Pramod Sawant Fielded As CM Of Goa ‘Headed To Win The Floor Test,’ Sawant

Mumbai: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar died on Sunday as he was suffering from Pancreatic Cancer.

After his demise, Pramod Sawant took the charge to continue the office of CM after Parrikar’s death. With being confident 45-year-old Sawant to be said he is ready to the floor test which is to be scheduled tomorrow in the Goa Assembly on Wednesday.

Sawant said, ‘Tomorrow we are going for the floor the second the problem in which Deputy CM will be too in Goa. I request to people to not congratulate or welcome him with flowers on during 7 days which are kept for mourning period’.

Today on he took the step to charge as a CM of Goa and kept a photo frame of Late Parrikar beside him.

While distinguishing the programmes of his government he said, ‘My first concern will be to hand up the management. My second priority will be to fulfil all the current ongoing projects started by late CM Parrikar’.

He further said, “My step for work will be for the last person in the society and with priority basis, I will provide each scheme of government to the people.”

BJP has it 12 MLAs in Legislative who had an all second with Goa Forward Party (GFP), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), this two party has the 3 seats each, respectively. While three are independent.

Whereas, Congress has 15 MLAs that too without any alliance and is one of the largest party in Goa. INC Leader Azad had said that with the highest number of 15 MLAs, Congress should be allowed to form a government in Goa.

With 40 seats, Goa Assembly has 4 seats vacant as because of the death of 2 legislators that include Parrikar and the other two due to the resignation of two legislators. On 23rd April the elections for this 3 seats are to take place.

In February 2017, Assembly elections were taken place and the next is due for 2022.
