PV Sindhu Create’s History, Grabs Gold Medal In WTF Finals

Mumbai :  A history created by an Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, bags gold medal in World Tour Finals tournament. Sindhu registered her win against WTF 2017 winner Nozomi Okuhara from Japan.

With the straight game victory, coming after seven straight losses, Sindhu became the first Indian to achieve this achievement.

“I really feel happy and I think I have no words because this is my first win this year and every time I am going to the finals and I am losing. This will be the most memorable this year because I think it was a good game and I am really very proud. I think the year has ended on a beautiful note.”

In recent years, 28-year-old Indians have faced many strikes in the tournament finals. After losing to Carolina Marin of Spain at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she took the silver home.

Sindus, who was always in control of the match, sealed the championship with forehand smash before falling on the court floor on his hands and knees.
