Rahul Gandhi Should Come Back As INC President: SC Unit Of Congress Legal Dept

Mumbai: The Supreme Court Unit of the Legal, Human Rights and RTI Department of the Congress has pitched Rahul Gandhi to be the President of the Congress Party.

Cell passed a strong resolution to bring back Rahul Gandhi as President of the Indian National Congress (Congress).

The unit said in its proposal that the party had to face the intoxication of Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to various factors.

“Though the parliamentary debate was of no use to him, it was due to a myriad of reasons. The Supreme Court unit feels that there is no other option for the party, but the sooner Mr Rahul Gandhi is back, the better,” read the resolution.

The resolution also condemned the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, calling it unconstitutional and a violation of Article 14 against the core principles of religion, 21 and secularism.

“The Act is contrary to the various international conventions of which India is a signatory. The Act is communally and constitutionally immortal, apart from being divisive and anti-pluralistic, in fact, a blatant one to destroy our secular fabric and Is a well-crafted effort. Dear Country, “the couple added.

It said that the cultural ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the whole world is a family) has been shattered. This comes amid major protests against the new citizenship law across the country.

Rahul Gandhi served as the Congress chief from December 2017 but resigned after his party suffered a crushing defeat in the general elections this year. His mother Sonia Gandhi succeeded him as interim president.

Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday led a delegation of opposition parties to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and sought intervention against the law.
